  • Born in Ashville, Alabama on February 17, 1935

  • Came to California in 1944, father worked at Kaiser Steel in Fontana

  • Graduated from Upland Jr High School in 1950 

  • School President -Graduated Chaffey High School, 1953

  • Graduated from UCLA (1957) and USC Law (1960)

  • Spearheaded Solar Energy Program to save over $7 million dollars for the Ontario-Montclair School District over 20 years

  • Helped bring Young Chefs Class to Ontario-Montclair School District

  • Created Ontario-Montclair School Foundation (503c)

  • Has helped open a Parent Education Center to support OMSD families

  • Supports and promotes Promise Scholars to increase high school graduation rates and college attendance
CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS
  • Helped draft the City of Ontario’s residential, commercial and industrial zones.

  • Worked on transit management of three major railroads.

  • Negotiated and finalized agreement with City of Los Angeles for expansion of Ontario International.

  • Put in place Ontario Mills agreement adding millions in revenue from sales tax.

  • Orchestrated Ontario Auto Mall.

  • Set up recreational centers and hired personnel to run the recreation department.
